Welcome! WOW - my first ever blog post. Who knows where this is going to go! I'm already finding it tricky just thinking about writing any sort of sentence without an emoji, but I'm here, and this is happening - YES!
LET'S BE HONEST...
I've been considering starting a blog for a long time, I just never really knew what I wanted the blog to focus on. Somewhere to write down my thoughts, experiences and interpretations. I've decided to write a blog about my work is a great place to start - it's relevant, it will re-ignite the love for what I do whenever I have a creative block.
I'll talk about tips & tricks I've learnt in my first year of freelancing. I'll talk about self-belief. I'll talk about the creative process. I'll talk about everything! One thing I'll avoid talking about is the C word. I don't know what about you but I'm done talking about that - I'll just continue to wash my hands and stay away from people until Boris says otherwise. So with that in mind, let's do this...
WHERE DID IT START?
Long story short, I never went to uni. I was always more creative than I was academic during school which led me to begin working for a Graphic Design company in Torquay when I left school at 18. I was there for 2 years. I then popped in and out of various roles in various industries before realising I really wanted to be my own boss and navigate a way to do what I love. I wanted to choose when I woke up. I wanted to choose what my days looked like. Most importantly, I wanted to have weekends off!
Working for yourself definitely comes with a tidal wave of worries & doubts. We can dive into that later. For now, I want to focus on the better parts of this.
I'm so excited that you've found me here. I'm so excited to start this journey. And, I really really hope that you will get something out of this, because I know I will! It already feels good getting my thoughts written down!
